About the Author

Sue Townsend was born in 1946 in Leicestershire in the United Kingdom.  She was a comic author. She started writing secretly from the age of 14.

She left school when she was 15 and worked in different jobs. She was a novelist and a screenwriter. She sadly passed a way in 2014.

Story line Of The Novel

This novel tells a story of a woman called Eva who is married to Brian. Brian is an astronomer who likes his job and even spends time in the shed in the garden in the back yard at his house “working from home”.

They have two teenage children Brian Junior and Brianne who are twins. They have just finished high school and are getting ready to go to Leads university to further their studies leaving their mom and dad nesting. How will empty nest affect their parents when they leave for university?

What I Thought About This Novel

I liked the way the author wrote this book it was so funny such that I frequently found myself laughing whilst reading this book. I was drawn into buying this book mainly because of it title and it did not disappoint me.

I thought the end was great it left me hanging looking and asking more questions about some of the character in the book.

Recommendations

I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes to read a novel with a bit of comedy in it.
