It’s that time of the month when we share our house savings update public!
We are excited to share with you our progress for September.
We had a great month, we just managed to save £605 for the house which is our monthly set target.
Note how I say just managed to save, October was a bit tricky month for our finances.
Our car broke down and we thought to repair it was a bit expensive considering the present value of the car.
We decided that our old car had seen better days and it was time to say goodbye to it and buy a new car.
We had set aside some savings for buying a new car in one of our savings accounts, enough to buy the car we wanted but not enough for all other expenses like driver’s insurance and road tax insurance.
We took some additional money out of our emergency fund savings account to cover all these expenses.
This came at a time when we were trying to build our emergency fund.
Of course we were not happy about taking money out of our emergency savings account but we were grateful that we had that emergency savings account in the first place.
Without it, there would have been no car for us or we would have taken money out of our house savings accounts which would have set us back.
