I love growing my own organic fruit and vegetable.

I started growing my own fruit and vegetable only about 3 years ago, everyone in my family joins in even the kids really enjoys it.

Our kids tend to explore more in the garden finding worms, slugs and butterflies and lady birds.

We don’t have a big garden but we try to make the most of what we have.

Over the past 3 years I have been learning a lot and am still learning more about growing vegetables and fruits.

Here Is What I am Growing In My Garden This Year

Green Beans

Green Beans

This is the second time I am growing green beans.

Last year I had a big harvest I even managed to freeze some of the beans and eat them throughout winter.

I grow them from seeds, they are easy to grow.

This year I had put them on the ground to early and they were damaged by frost.

I had to replant the seeds again.

I have now put them on the ground as you can see from the picture above.

Strawberries

I am also growing strawberries in containers and I plan to put them in a soon.

I started with just 6 plant of strawberry that I bought from a car boot sale and they cost only £0.50  for the lot  and that was 2 years ago.

I have got more strawberry plants now as I was pegging the strawberry runners at the end of each summer season.

Sweetcorn and Butternut

I have planted sweetcorn and butternut its the first year I am planting this part of the garden.

It was full of weeds and had to first clear the weed first.

I planted sweet corn and the butternut from seed in pot then transplanted them on to the ground.  As you can see the weed are still visible I will try and keep up with them as the sweet corn and butternuts grows.

I like to buy most of my vegetable seeds from Amazon because they have a lot of varieties you can choose from.

I buy most of my compost from Wilko especially the Wilko Poultry Manure 7kg and Gro-Sure Farmyard Manure 50L  these two I highly recommend them because they are rich in nutrients that the vegetables need.

I hope I have inspired you to grow your own fruits and vegetables.

In the next post on gardening I will be sharing with you the benefits of growing your own fruits and vegetables so stay tuned.
