Do you enjoy family days out?
A few weeks ago we visited Wollaton Hall and Deer Park which is located in Nottingham.
Wollaton Hall building was built in 1588.
It’s run by Nottingham City Council but it used to be owned by a family.
It’s famous for screening some scenes in Batman: The Dark Knight Rises.
It has a cafe with a sitting area which is great for buying sandwiches and drinks.
The above picture shows the building of the cafe.
We didn’t need to go inside the cafe as we had prepared our own picnic bag with sandwiches, snacks and cold drinks.
We also took our large picnic blanket which we always carry around when we go out especially during summer months.
The grounds are well maintained and there are so many benches and picnic areas available.
The is a big pond which is surrounded by trees at the park.
There were so many beautiful ducks around the ponds and we also saw some crows around the pond.
There were some nursing mother ducks around the pond protecting and feeding their babies like the one in the picture above.
There were some adult deers which were sitting in groups under the trees looking at passing by people.
The dears were friendly toward people.
We also some baby deers which had spots all over their body.
They were gazing the green grass on the grounds of the park.
Apparently, the spots on the baby deer’s body will disappear as they get older.
There is a large forest area which is great for taking long walks breathing in all the fresh air.
Visiting Wollaton Hall and Deer Park is a great idea for an inexpensive day out with family.
Free admission to everyone.
There is also a large playing area for kids to play.
The kid play is full of swings, slides, seesaws and other outdoor toys.
My kids really enjoyed themselves in the play area.
There is a parking charge at the park starting from £2 depending on how long you plan to stay at the park.
The park is usually open throughout the year.
We really enjoyed visiting Wollaton Hall and Deer Park and we looking forward to going again sometime in the future.
Over to you…
