Blackberry Crumble Recipe

blackberry crumble and custard

*450g blackberries

*Zest of one medium orange

*Juice of one medium orange

*130g plain flour

*130g unsalted butter

*2 tbsp caster sugar

*Preheat oven to 180C / Gas 4.

* Gently mix together the blackberry, orange zest and juice into an ovenproof dish.

* To make the crumble top sieve the flour, add sugar  and mix in a separate bowl.

*Cut the butter into small squares and put them into the flour sugar mix. Use your fingers to mix the mixture until it resembles bread crumbs. The larger the bread crumbs the better.

*Lay the mixture on top of the blackberries and put the ovenproof dish in the middle of the oven.

*Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the juice from the berries is bubbling around the side and top of the dish or until the crumble top is golden brown.

Quick Tip:

You can serve it with custard cream, ice cream or whipping cream.
